KYENJOJO POLITICIANS VOW TO MOVE FROM ANALOG TO DIGITAL ADDRESSES

The  ICT wind  has not left kyenjojo District the same, at a pre-launch meeting of the E-society centre organized by RIC-NET and RWECO on 11th April 2013 in political board room, participants who were mainly heads of departments, Political leaders and CSO representatives were oriented on how the Electronic society operates by Mr Baluku Yosia the ICT officer. while opening the meeting the ACAO Ms Enid kajumba applauded RIC-NET/RWECO   for the strong partnership that has proved  beyond the signing of an M.O.U. 
she noted that since 2012 when the E- society  engagements  the District has been commited to have the centre in place so as to bring development  to date when the E-centre  has been set up in the planning unit  on the District. she pledged  that the District will continue supporting the initiative. 

The Executive Director RIC-NET oriented the participants on E-platforms as Skype and how they ease communication in office, Huduma, website,  track FM and group discussion on social media however he asked the District to develop a  training plan for the staff to update the website, E-library usage,we 2.0 tools, computer literacy  and also ensuring the sustainability of the centre, it was resolved that the District  planner and  District information officer  would  present the issues above in the Top management meeting and there after update RIC-NET to kick off with the trainings. other staff of RIC-NET present were the Ms.  Kyomuhendo Joselyne program manager, Mr.Muhindo Geoffrey the Documentation officer, RWECO staff Mr. Baluku Jimmy the Coordinator RWECO and Ms Kenjingo Sheila the Monitoring and evaluation officer.


 In her closing remarks, the secretary  for community development,  Hon Christine appreciated the  support from RIC-NET/RWECO  and also noted that  as political leaders  people have  known their  addresses to be limited to post office but with the E-centre and a full time staff she vowed to use the Electronic centre over and over until her address would be fully digitalized. She finally pledged support from the District and closed the meeting at 2:00pm.
